I just notissed that your cart has shealds to protect the passangers form dirt from the wheels. I don't think this is normal for the norwegian 'kjøkkenvogn'! but it could be upgraded.

Yes, I noticed that too. In the pictures that I could find of other kjøkkenvogner, there were no shealds. They are welded to the little step for the passenger seat, so I don't know if it is fitted on later or not. Rolling Eyes It also has lamps, but these are also of a later date. I don't think a kjøkkenvogn has lamps?
I will send an email to the Dutch rijtuigmuseum (kjøretøy museum (is that the right word?)) maybe they can tell me what sort of carriage it is.
Do you have a carriagemuseum in Norway?

I'll let you know if I find out!

Zeros waggon is definitly not a "kjøkkenvogn". I would neither call Heljars waggon a "kjøkkenvogn". I know the "kjøkkenvogn" as a simle waggon. The "kjøkkenvogn" was for the daily routines and everydays use, not for pleasurable occasions. Even if it also was made for such occasion because ordinary people hadn't something more luxuriant.
The picuture in the right is of a "kjøkkenvogn"

and here is also one:

I found this web site with some wagons: http://www.kongsberg-byhistorielag.no/Bokomtaler/Vognfabrikken/vognfabrikken_i_dyrmyrgata.htm

They show a picture of a kjøkkenvogn (scroll down on the web site…). And it looks like Zeros and Heljars wagons. I think it’s a kjøkkenvogn you have. But it’s probably modernized.

Nice wagon! Very Happy

Thanks for the pictures!

Zero's carriage does look like a kjøkkenvogn! if you imagine it without the shealds and the front seat. Both seats can be removed and you can also put the backseat up front! If you imagine that (without the sheads), it really looks like the foto of Øystein Very Happy
Zero's carriage is very simple. Without the seats, the base is a flat wagon, really something to use on a farm. Thick wooden planks with iron. I will make some pictures to show you. Maybe this wagon was upgraded as Anni says (at a later stage) to make it look like a pleasure carriage.

Thanks!

It was spesially the seats (Heljars and Zeros pictures) that I thaught looked a bit "strange" for å kjøkkenvogn. But I agree, the base og the waggon looks like a kjøkkenvogn.
This is a picture from a swedish website :

I think the sometimes are called "kyrktrilla" (church-waggon)

and here is a picture of a waggon more like the simple style I use to call a kjøkkenvogn.

Hey thanks!!
The first photo is excactly Zero's wagon! Even the seats are the same! That would mean it is probably a Swedish wagon! Rolling Eyes Would have been nicer if it was Norwegian as I have a Fjordhest, but it's Scandinavian anyway! It is funny, but today I had a peek under the material of the front seat, which was a bit loose, and the paint under the cushion was blueish-gray. About the same colour as the carriage in the photo. The man I bought te wagon from had painted it some 30 years ago and couldn't remember what colour it originally had.

Thanks very much for the trouble of finding the pictures. You helped me a lot! Very Happy
